Refuge

 A refuge may be many different things to different people: it could be a home, or a room within a home, it could be a special place outdoors, or it could be another location entirely--a retreat many miles away, or a workshop.

 And then, of course, there are other sorts of refuge: most literally, a place that is safe from danger, a place that refugees go. Or an imaginary place that we can escape to when we need to get away from reality. Maybe we find refuge in books. Maybe we find it in music. Maybe in art. Maybe in nature. Maybe in another person. Maybe we find it in spirituality, or mindfulness.

 What connects all refuges, though, is that they are safe spaces. A place to shelter. A place to breathe. A place to think. A place to sleep. A place to dream. A place to create. A place to grow. A place to let go. One where, if we are lucky, we may feel safe enough to become immersed in the magic of our imaginations, to wander free without fear of getting lost.

    Well, quilting is my refuge. It's very therapeutic to sew, by hand or by machine. It requiere a lot of attention, concentration. I love it!

    Beautiful and Inspiring my refuge depend on situations, sometimes its books, other times its home, and still sometimes its friends and most importantly for me Refuge is my faith in God.
